Tour Details - Maglic Mountain Hiking Tour

Hiking Maglic Mountain is a true challenge and reward in one.

🌳 Adventure and Nature

The Maglic mountain climbing adventure is a destination where beautiful landscapes and the richness of endemic plants leave no one indifferent. As you climb higher, the views open up and the noise of everyday life slowly disappears. Maglic is the kind of place where nature does the talking. Because of its unique position, Maglic provides one of the most beautiful views in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Furthermore, it is surrounded by the oldest and largest rainforest in Europe, as well as the most beautiful lake in the Balkans, Trnovacko Lake.

Moreover, Maglic is located within the Sutjeska National Park, the oldest national park in BiH.

🧗 How to Climb Maglic Mountain – Two Ascent Options

The highest peak of Mount Maglic can be climbed in two (2) different ways:

1. Option for Adrenaline Enthusiasts:

• First, for all adrenaline lovers: with the help of our licensed guide, climbing across the rocks, you reach the top of this mountain. In this case, using our professional equipment (helmet, climbing harness, via ferrata set), you will be completely safe. The trail starts from Prijevor, and the required time to climb is about 2 hours and 30 minutes. No previous experience is required, thus anyone who does not have an excessive fear of heights can participate.

2. Option for Hikers (Easier):

• Secondly, the easier way is intended for those who prefer hiking, with minimal climbing elements. For this option, we need a similar time from the start to the top of the mountain, namely about 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Despite being the highest mountain peak in BiH, both recreationalists and beginners can participate in the tour.

🔄 Return Route and Tour Logistics

We organize the Hike Maglic peak adventure with a return via Trnovacko Lake. This is a much better option because you will be able to enjoy phenomenal views of Trnovačko Lake. We also organize this tour with an overnight stay at Trnovacko Lake, which you can view by clicking on the link.

The experience I had with these organizers was amazing. We were a small group of 4 (including the tour guide). We climbed Maglić (the tallest mountain in BiH), then camped by the Rikovačko lake not far from the mountain top. On the next day, we went hiking on the tallest mountain of Montenegro (Bobotov Kuk). The experience was very well organized, the tour guide was extremely kind and friendly!
Definitely recommend!!!

We’ve had the most amazing hike to Maglic and Trnovacko jezero. There was an adventure in there too when we were surrounded by bulls, but I’d need to write a blog to tell you all about it. The view from the top of Bosnia and Herzegovina is amazing. It helped that we had the sunniest of days and could see for miles ahead.

Wonderful nature reserve, primordial forest, accessible yet demanding. One can really feel the call on nature in the wonderful Sutjeska National Park with mount Maglic as the epicenter.
Views abound, and the climb is a rewarding challenge. Rangers are friendly and will do anything to make your stay possible.
