The Approach and AscentThe adventure begins with a scenic approach through the wild landscapes of Sutjeska National Park. By off-road vehicle, we reach the starting point beneath Mount Maglic, passing through the wild landscapes of Sutjeska National Park. From here, the trail gradually ascends through rugged mountain terrain. Our goal is the summit of Maglic (2,386 m) — the highest peak in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Breathtaking Summit ViewsBreathtaking views open in all directions during the ascent. From the trail and the summit itself, you can see the Perucica rainforest and the wide green ridges of Zelengora. You can also see the powerful massif of Volujak and even Bobotov Kuk in Montenegro. The adventure begins with an early arrival at our camp, followed by breakfast and a short briefing with your guide. After departure, we drive for approximately 45 minutes through the wild landscapes of Sutjeska National Park toward Prijevor, the starting point of the hike.
From Prijevor, the ascent to Maglic begins along a mountain trail. The hike takes around two to two and a half hours, with steady elevation gain and constantly opening views of the surrounding peaks. Together with our guide, we reach the summit of Maglic (2,386 m), the highest mountain in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Time is reserved at the top to rest, take photos, and enjoy panoramic views stretching toward Perucica rainforest, Zelengora, Volujak.
After a lunch break on the mountain, the route continues downhill toward Carev Do, a spectacular viewpoint overlooking Trnovačko Lake. From here, we descend for about one hour until we reach the lakeshore.
Upon arrival at Trnovacko Lake, the rest of the day is dedicated to relaxation. Depending on conditions and preferences, guests can swim in the clear alpine water, explore the surroundings, visit nearby viewpoints, or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Dinner is prepared in nature, followed by an overnight stay in tents beside the lake — a true “million-star hotel” experience.
The day starts with breakfast by the lake, surrounded by silence and mountain scenery. The morning is free for light activities such as swimming, fishing, short walks around the lake, or photography.
After packing equipment, we leave Trnovacko Lake and walk back toward the pickup point, where our vehicle awaits. A scenic drive brings us back to the starting location, marking the end of the Maglic Mountain Hike & Camping Adventure.
