The only remaining breed of Bosnian mountain horses is located on the plateau of the Tara River, the deepest canyon in Europe, whose combination makes the best possible horseback riding adventure in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Tara River Canyon is the deepest canyon in Europe and the second in the world and is a unique destination for horseback riding. What makes our adventure special are the horses, because on the plateau of the canyon of the river Tara there is a stable of famous Bosnian mountain horses that exist only in this place. Bosnian mountain horses are descendants of Arabian horses that have adapted to different living conditions over time and thus a new breed of horse has been created, the Bosnian mountain horse.
The tour is based on horseback riding on the slopes of the Tara River canyon, visiting the lookouts from where the views of this famous canyon always open up again and again.
In addition to the canyon, we will also enjoy the views of mountain massifs such as Durmitor, Maglic, Zelengora, etc.
The estimated duration of the riding tour is 1 hour, but it can be extended. If you do not have experience in horse riding, we recommend first getting to know and mastering the technique, and only then field riding.

What to Expect
Horse riding on the plateau of the Tara river canyon is different from all the tours in our offer.
There are many reasons why it is different.
First of all, the location of the horse stable is on the very edge of the Tara river canyon, which is the deepest canyon in Europe and the second in the world. In this adventure, you will experience a safari drive with our Land Rover and Mitsubishi off-road vehicles.
There are also views of a large number of mountain massifs in both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.
The mountain Ljubisnja, which is the third highest in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is only a 2-hour ride away.
On the other hand, the stable houses the only remaining Bosnian mountain horses in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They found their salvation on the plateau of the Tara river canyon.
