💎 A Jewel of Nature

Since its discovery, Hrcavka Canyon has gained a reputation as one of the most exciting canyoning routes in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The river springs from Zelengora Mountain at an altitude of 1,570 meters. From there, its fast and clear mountain streams shape a spectacular landscape.
Over time, the powerful flow of water carved an impressive canyon through magmatic rock. Furthermore, along the way, the crystal-green water forms countless small waterfalls, turning into white mist as it falls.

🧗 The Canyoning Experience

This canyoning adventure leads you deep into the Sutjeska National Park, where Hrcavka Canyon reveals its wild character step by step.
Along the route, you’ll move through waterfalls, natural slides, and deep crystal-clear pools, combining swimming, jumping, and rope-assisted descents adapted to the group.
The highest jump reaches up to 7 meters, and all jumps are optional and adapted to each participant’s comfort level. During summer, the water temperature stays around 10°C, making the experience refreshing even on hot days.

One of the highlights is a zipline set directly inside the canyon, allowing you to cross a waterfall surrounded by rock walls and rushing water.

One of the strongest moments comes where the canyon narrows and everyone naturally slows down, moving carefully between the rock walls.

The tour is led by licensed canyoning guides who manage every section of the route and adjust techniques to the group’s abilities.
Canyoning on the Hrcavka River combines rope techniques, natural slides, swimming, and controlled descents, all adapted to the group’s abilities.

The activity lasts approximately 2–3 hours. At the end of the tour, dry clothes and a traditional outdoor lunch made from local products await guests (for groups of four or more).

Itinerary: Canyoning in Sutjeska National Park

Day 1Canyoning Hrcavka Canyon Adventure

We start the Hrcavka Canyon Canyoning Tour with a 30-minute off-road jeep ride through the wild beauty of Sutjeska National Park.

 
After arriving at the starting point, we put on neoprene suits, helmets, and canyoning gear, thus getting ready for the adventure ahead. A 30-minute hike through the forest leads us to the entry point of the canyon.
The canyoning experience lasts 2 to 3 hours, filled with jumping, swimming, sliding, and rappelling down beautiful waterfalls. You will also experience a thrilling zipline descent as you pass directly through a refreshing waterfall. Following the main tour, we return to the starting point, full of great memories and adrenaline. For groups of four or more, we organize a delicious outdoor lunch in nature (for same price), surrounded by stunning mountain scenery.

Very great experience with our instructor Jovan! Some in our friend group had no previous experience canyoning, though that was no problem at all. Always clear instructions, and it was lots of fun! Definitely recommend 🙂 If you wear glasses, we do recommend wearing glasses for this activity. (You can give the glasses to instructor during jumps etc for safekeeping, but they fog up easily in the canyon, disturbing your vision)
