This one-day hiking itinerary is designed as a smooth circular route, allowing you to experience four of Zelengora’s most beautiful glacial lakes at a relaxed mountain pace.
Departure and Scenic DriveThe tour begins with departure from Foca or Tjentiste. We will drive through the impressive Sutjeska River canyon. The national park is named after this river. The journey toward the Zelengora massif takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. It offers beautiful mountain scenery along the way.
Stirinsko and Kotlanicko LakesOur hike starts at Stirinsko Lake. We take time here to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. From here, we continue to Kotlanicko Lake. We walk through open meadows and gentle mountain terrain. These first sections set a comfortable rhythm for the day.
Jugovo and Orlovacko LakesThe route continues across the wide green slopes of Zelengora. We head toward Jugovo Lake and then Orlovacko Lake. Orlovacko is the largest and most well-known lake in the area. We make regular stops for rest and photos. The circular route allows for constant variety in views.
Return to Starting PointAfter visiting all four lakes, we return to the vehicle. We drive back to the starting location. This brings the Zelengora Lakes Hiking Tour to a rewarding end.
